N.C. District 31-JThomas Marshall Brooks, Jr. (Tommy) was born February 8, 1951 to Marshall and Helen Brooks. He grew up in the Maxton area and graduated from Maxton High School in 1970. He then attended Richmond Technical College and received a degree in Architectual Drafting. After working at several jobs, he took a job with Pioneer Seed Corn (Now Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.). He is Supervisor over Research and Development. Tommy has just begun his 34th year with Pioneer. In 1972, Tommy married his High School sweetheart, Rebecca. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Flora and Julie, who live in Charlotte. Tommy and Rebecca are members of Stewartsville Baptist Church where Tommy teaches the youth in Sunday School. He is also chairman of the Security Committee. Tommy has been a member of the Laurinburg Lions Club for 10 years. He has served as Club President twice, Club Treasurer, Zone Chair and Vice District Governor. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow.
