PLEASE call the District Governor if your Club meets on another day and time. He should not travel and find no one there. If you have cancelled a meeting, or are having some other plans on your regular meeting date, let him know. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Your District Governor is required by Lions International to make at least one
official visit to every Club within their District during the Lionistic year. In most cases, the DG
is the highest ranking officer of Lions International to visit the Club during the year.
Please observe these procedures or protocol during the official visit.
1. Do not schedule other programs. The DG provides the program.
2. Inform your club membership of the visit.
3. Have your attendance committee strive to have excellent attendance at the meeting.
4. Properly introduce your DG to each Lion and Lioness. Usually the President or
an officer who knows the DG should do this.
The following order of introduction should be used from the head table.
Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer; Regional Chair; District Committee Chair; Past District Governor;
Other Lion guests; Other non-Lion guests; Zone Chair.
The Zone Chair should introduce the District Governor prior to the Governor's presentation. If the
Zone Chair is not present, the introduction should be made by the Regional Chair, Cabinet Secretary/
Treasurer, Past District Governor, or other local Club officer when appropriate.
When the governor is introduced, the Club members should stand at the conclusion of the address.
There should be a brief Board of Director's meeting immediately following the regular meeting. This
allows your members to ask questions and participate in a discussion with the DG. Full
attendance of the board is appreciated. All interested Club members are invited. To permit the Governor
to offer the best help, special problems or questions should be given to him in advance of the meeting.
The DG welcomes suggestions for improvements. Any ideas or suggested projects to encourage
more individual involvement will be well received.
